Staying in the “gites ” of the chateau’s old hamlet ( sleeps up to 31 people), located right beside the huge 17th century stables with unrivalled views over the neighbouring pastureland and their surrounds, the Avaise forest, and the Charolais hills, this huge building – the chateau’s former forge – is waiting to welcome you here for your holidays.
The Accommodations:
- The former forge of the chateau (320 M2) can take up to 15 people.
- The gate-keepers cottage hosts 6 people
- The gardener’s house can host up to 10 persons
- The Chateau’s old forge has it’s own enclosed private garden, a terrace with electrically operated sun-blinds. Garden furniture, barbecue and ping-pong table also enhance outisde living.
- Swimming pool and a large poolhouse
- Tennis court of the domain at your disposal.
Travel Information for Visitors:
Situated only a train journey away ; – 2 hours by train from Geneva, 1 hour and 20 minutes from Beaune, 1 hour and 10 minutes from Lyon, and 1 hour from either Chalon or Villefranche-sur-Saone . The T.G.V. (express train ) station of Le Creusot is only 40 minutes drive away, that of Macon is 35 minutes drive away and it is a 25 minute drive from Cluny or from Paray-le-Monial, and only a 15 minute drive from Charolles.

Discover the peace and beauty of this place, whose view from the old forge of the castle, overlooking the valley, is exceptional. Between Cluny and Paray-Le-Monial, lovers of Romanesque architecture will be delighted. In Charolles (15 minutes from the estate), called the Venice of the Charolais country, cradle of the world-famous cattle and sheep breeds, there is an excellent gastronomic address: Frédéric Doucet’s starred restaurant. Saint-Bonnet-de-Joux has all the traditional shops, bakery, pharmacy, florist, haberdashery, hairdresser, tobacconist and a large Super U with a quality butcher’s department.
